Speedometer Clusters have problems with the fuel gauge failing, called the hummingbird effect because the needle vibrates. Usually, the fuel sending unit or slosh module is going bad or faulty ground, which wears out the fuel gauge. Also, the 95-99 Chevy's see the speedometer needle hanging reading slow and odometer stops working. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, we do carry replacement parts you can purchase.

2000 - 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500/2500 Sierra 1500/2500, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon

Have issues with speedometer cluster display not lighting up also individual gauge failure and backlighting issues.

If you’re having a fuel gauge indication issue its much more common to be a sending unit issue (even if you just replaced it) than a gauge.

We have a bench test with the capability to test your cluster and eliminate cluster unknowns.

2003 - 2006 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Sierra, Avalanche Speedometer Cluster

Individual gauge, (stepper motors) and gauge backlighting will fail on 03-06 models. Gauge cluster will completely power off at times on many 03-05 models. When 03-05 models power off completely, the backlighting, check engine light, and turn signals will continue to operate. If your lens is broken, we have replacement lenses. It is also common for the PRND321 gear indicator to dim or go out, and typically happens just before the powering or draw issues occur. Please let us know if you are experiencing battery drain. If you think your battery drain is coming from the cluster, please unplug cluster to check draw rather than just pull IPC fuse.

Your mileage is held on an EPROM chip and does not change after repair.

If your odometer reads "ERROR”, we can repair that as well but there is additional charge. Also, if your mileage indicator is dim, we can replace the gas filled vacuum display. We are also able to program a used replacement, but we recommend rebuilding your existing unit.

2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2013 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon Sierra speedometer gauge

clusters have issues with displays failing or sometimes display is intermittent. The 2008 & 2009 models have issues with the cluster being intermittent and there is not a repair available, but we can program you a replacement at an affordable price. Also, if your lens is cracked, it we have plenty in stock at a reasonable price.

2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, & 2018 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe, Yukon  Suburban, and Sierra speedometer gauge

2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, & 2018 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe, Yukon  Suburban, and Sierra Speedometer Gauge Cluster issues so far are lens cracking and the occasional center display failing. The best we can tell the lenses are cracking because of stress mount.

2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 Chevy Trailblazer and GMC Envoy speedometer gauge

2002, 2003, 2004, & 2005 Chevy Cavalier Speedometer Gauge Clusters have a high fail rate with stepper motors and back lighting along with odometer display. If your lens is broken, we do have replacements.

Tech note: be very careful when removing cluster from car because the surrounding bezel plastic can be brittle.
